# Parley for Word

> Bring the Agent into Microsoft Word to revise drafts with tracked, word-level redlines.

The Word Add-In puts the Parley Agent in a pane beside your document, so you can revise a draft where you already do your final editing — and review every change as a tracked redline before you accept it.

## Installing the add-in

Install it from inside Word itself rather than from the Microsoft Store.

    Open Microsoft Word on your desktop, with any document open or a blank one.

  <Step title="Go to Add-ins">
    On the **Home** tab, select **Add-ins**. Depending on your version of Word, this may appear under **Insert → Add-ins**.

  <Step title="Find Parley">
    Choose **More Add-ins**, search for **Parley**, and select **Add**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Open the Parley pane and sign in with the same account you use at [app.parley.so](https://app.parley.so). Your firm's Projects and Skills come with you.

  If your firm centrally manages Office add-ins, your IT admin may need to approve Parley before it appears in the list. Point them at [founders@parley.so](mailto:founders@parley.so) if they have questions.

## Word-level redlines

When the Agent revises your draft, it marks up only the language that changed. Instead of striking a whole paragraph and replacing it, you see the specific words that moved — the way a colleague's edits would look.

That means you can read the reasoning in the change itself, accept and reject edit by edit, and keep your own sentences where you want them.

## Working with a Project

Add a Project as context and the Agent drafts from the case's evidence, Notes, and shared memory rather than only what's on the page. Click anywhere on a Project row to open it, and use the **add context** button to attach one.

With a Project attached, you can ask for the things that need the case behind them:

* Revise a section to match the argument in the petition
* Tighten language while preserving defined terms used elsewhere in the filing
* Pull a fact from the evidence and cite the exhibit it came from

Your firm's [Skills](/memory-and-skills/skills) apply here too, so letterhead and house formatting carry into what the Agent writes.

## Exports

Documents generated through Parley export as DOCX with formatting intact, and footnotes are supported.
