# Projects

> A Project is one matter. Everything the case needs, and everything Parley produces for it, lives here.

A Project is one matter. It holds the evidence you upload, the work products Parley generates, the notes your team writes, and the case's shared memory — so a draft, an index, and an exhibit packet created weeks apart still match one to one.

Starting work in a Project rather than a bare chat is the single highest-leverage habit in Parley. A chat forgets. A Project accumulates.

## What lives on a Project

* **Files and evidence**, organized into folders and subfolders.
* **Work products** the Agent generates — briefs, forms, packets, letters — versioned and kept in one place.
* **Notes**, free-form context that isn't in any evidence document.
* **Shared memory**, the key case details Parley logs as it works.
* **The Activity Log**, including the full USCIS case timeline once a receipt notice is uploaded.
* **Fields** — status, target date, receipt numbers — that Parley keeps current on its own.

## Creating a Project

Create one from the Projects page, or just ask the Agent:

> "Create a Project for Max Bauer's O-1A and put these files in it."

The Agent can create the Project, add documents, and organize them across folders and subfolders in one pass. If you started in a general chat and want to formalize it, ask the Agent to create a Project from what you've been working on.

Link the Project to the petitioner's [Account](/self-driving/objects) and the beneficiary's Contact as you go. Linking is what lets Parley reach the company's letterhead, prior filings, and background without you re-attaching them case by case.

## Producing work

Open the Project and chat on top of it, or select **Run Agent** and choose a Skill. The Agent works from everything in the Project rather than only what you paste into the message.

A few things worth knowing:

* Work products save automatically under the Workflow and Packet tabs, so your team can keep iterating.
* Click any workflow to open it in a resizable side-by-side preview.
* Kick off a run and walk away. The Project shows which drafts are in progress, so you can pick up where you left off without watching the Agent work.
* **Export All** zips every work product in the Project into a single download.
* Hit stop mid-stream to keep partial work once the Agent has given you what you need.

## Exhibit packets

Ask the Agent to assemble a packet and it organizes the evidence, creates divider pages, and compiles the PDF against your template shell or finalized index. Select **Open in Project** on a packet to change divider pages, reorder documents, or add new evidence.

Because the packet and the petition draw on the same shared memory, the index and the brief reference the same exhibits in the same order.

## Project Notes

Notes are a free-form editor for case information that isn't in an evidence document — a consultation summary, a writing plan, a running log of what the client still owes you. Create one from the **\[+]** on the Overview tab.

The Agent reads Notes and can write back to them. Two patterns worth stealing:

* Ask the Agent to write a case strategy note that outlines the petition and cites the key evidence, then use that note to guide research, client follow-ups, and the first draft.
* Complete a form and Parley writes a QA note for you, flagging missing evidence and conflicting or ambiguous field inputs.

## Finding things

Search for any document or folder inside a Project from the toolbar, and drag and drop files between locations in both the Library and Project file browsers.

You don't need to turn a detail into a field to find it later. Parley searches across every file and note on the matter — if it's in the Project, ask for it.

## Long threads

When you reopen a long chat thread that's been idle, Parley offers to continue in a fresh thread from a summary, carrying your files and work products over. Taking it up keeps the Agent fast and the output sharp.
