Owners
Owners have full control of the firm’s workspace, including everything an Admin can do. Billing and plan. Only an Owner can see billing. On self-serve plans, only an Owner can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel. On Enterprise, Owners manage overage limits and set notifications for usage. See Plans and How credits work. Full visibility. Owners can see every Project created in the firm, including private ones. This is what makes an Owner accountable for the firm’s whole book of work rather than only the matters they’re on — supervising attorneys can see a case without being added to it.Because Owners can see private Projects and control billing, keep the number of Owners small. Give supervising attorneys who need to publish firm-wide Skills and review usage the Admin role instead.
Admins
Admins run the firm’s shared knowledge and see how the team is using Parley. Skills. Admins publish Skills to the entire organization. They can also review a Member’s personal Skill and publish it firm-wide — the path by which one attorney’s way of building a petition becomes the firm’s. See Skills. Usage visibility. Admins can see the Usage page, which breaks down consumption by user, along with chat threads both inside and outside of Projects. This is how a firm finds out which work is drawing credits, who is getting the most out of Parley, and where a Skill would save the team repeated effort.Members
Members do the case work. They create and work Projects, run the Agent, produce drafts, forms, and exhibit packets, and build their own personal Skills. A personal Skill stays with the Member who built it until an Admin reviews and publishes it to the organization. That keeps the firm-wide Skill library curated rather than accumulating every individual’s experiments.Choosing roles
A workable default for most firms:- Owner — the managing attorney, and whoever signs off on spend.
- Admin — supervising attorneys and whoever owns the firm’s templates and standards.
- Member — everyone else doing casework.
