A Routine is the Agent on a schedule. Anything you’d ask it to do on a Monday morning, it can do every Monday morning without you asking — and put the result in your inbox.

What Routines are for

The recurring work that never quite gets done on time:
  • A Monday report of every matter with a deadline in the next 30 days
  • A weekly digest of cases with no activity, so nothing goes quiet unnoticed
  • A monthly roll-up of filings by attorney or by case type
  • A standing check on receipt numbers and case status across open matters
If you find yourself running the same query every week, that’s a Routine.

Creating one

Ask the Agent for the output you want, then ask it to run on a schedule:
“Every Monday at 8am, send me the matters with a target date in the next 30 days, grouped by attorney.”
Pick a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence. Results arrive as a notification in Parley and in your inbox, so you can act on them from wherever you start your day.

Notifications

Parley’s notification centre collects case updates, approaching dates, and finished Agent and Routine runs into a single inbox, reachable from a popover in your sidebar so you never lose your place. You can set notifications for any date tracked in Parley from Settings. If there’s a date your firm cares about that isn’t tracked yet, an Owner or Admin can ask the Agent to add it, and your team can subscribe to alerts as those deadlines approach. See Self-driving.

Credits

Routines draw credits per run — simple runs cost less, complex ones more. A daily Routine across a large caseload is the kind of thing worth checking on the Usage page after a couple of weeks. See How credits work.
