A Skill is your firm’s playbook written down once, in a form Parley can run. Your letterhead and signatories. How you build an O-1A support letter. How evidence gets named and foldered. The samples you want a new draft to resemble.
This is where Parley stops being a good assistant and starts being your firm’s system. Getting to a finished deliverable through conversation means re-supplying your standards, your format, and your tone every single time, then correcting the draft over several versions. A Skill encodes that once.
Creating a Skill
Ask the Agent:
“Create a Skill from this support letter template.”
Upload a sample and Parley writes the Skill for you — reading the structure, the tone, and the conventions out of the document rather than making you describe them. Review what it produces and correct it. Skills live under Knowledge → Skills.
Skills worth building first
Attorney form details, bar numbers, office addresses, letterhead, and signatories, reused across every form and cover letter. This is the one to build first — it touches everything Parley produces.
How your firm builds an O-1A, an EB-1A, a PERM. The structure, the argument order, the evidence each section needs.
Reference-Letter-Drafting
Upload samples of reference letters for every case type. A Skill can hold multiple folders and subfolders, and Parley searches across them to select the best sample for the situation in front of it.
Instructions for how evidence should be named and organized. Parley can rename documents and reorganize them into folders and subfolders to match.
Using a Skill
Inside a Project, type / in the Agent to pull up your firm’s Skills and use one in your prompt. Or select Run Agent and choose the Skill you want.
Because the Skill supplies the standards, the first draft comes back closer to final — which means fewer correction rounds and fewer credits spent reaching the same quality.
Personal and published Skills
Every team member can build their own personal Skills. An Admin can review a Member’s personal Skill and publish it to the whole organization, which is how one attorney’s way of building a petition becomes the firm’s.
That review step keeps the firm-wide library curated rather than filling up with everyone’s experiments. See Permissions.
Skills get better with use. When a draft comes back wrong in the same way twice, that’s a line missing from the Skill — add it rather than correcting the draft again.
