Your clients are in. Now the documents. There are three routes, and most firms use all three.

Connect your document management system

If your files already live in Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox, Box, or Clio, connect it rather than copying anything. Sync a Project to a folder and new evidence lands in Parley on its own as it arrives. This is the option to take if you have one. It means there’s no migration cut-over date and no second copy of the truth. See Document management.

Connect your email and calendar

Much of a firm’s real case history is in its inbox, not its file server. Connecting Gmail or Outlook lets Parley build records out of your correspondence — companies and people get created automatically and stay updated as conversations continue. Do this early. It means your client history is searchable and available to any draft from day one. See Email and calendar.

Upload directly

For everything else, upload it. Drag files into a Project, or into the Library for anything that isn’t matter-specific. Upload and processing are free at any volume, so there’s no reason to be selective. Ask the Agent to organize as it goes:
“Put these in the O-1A Project, sort them into folders by exhibit type, and rename them to our convention.”
If your firm has a naming convention, build a Document-Naming Skill first and Parley will apply it to everything that follows.

What to bring first

You don’t need everything on day one. In rough order of payoff:
1

Your templates and samples

Letterhead, sample support letters, prior filings you’re proud of. These become Skills, and Skills improve every work product after.
2

Active matters

Evidence for cases currently in flight, so Parley can start producing work immediately.
3

Reusable client material

Company background, exhibits, and prior filings that attach to an Account and flow into every matter for that client.
4

The archive

Closed matters, whenever you get to them. Useful for precedent and reporting, not urgent.
